Foggy evening at the ocean!

The weather last weekend looked questionable, so I was worried all day that we would need to reschedule our session. But the thunderstorms were supposed to hold off until about 7pm which would hopefully give us plenty of time. The sky was perfect driving the whole way to Biddeford, but as soon as we got near the ocean, everything was covered in a thick blanket of fog. We could barely see the water! We could barely even see people ten feet in front of us! A littlle disheartened, but determined to try and make it work we went for it. And I am so glad we did! I LOVE how this session turned out!

The "H" family is a lovely family that we have been having the pleasure to get to know through our homeschool community. It was wonderful getting to spend a little more time with them. I was especially thrilled that they brought the newest member of their family, a 13 week old puppy! The puppy had never been to the ocean before and was super cute taking in all the new sights and smells. The kids had so much fun running in and out of the foggy shore and exploring the massive rocks that just begging to be climbed, full of the promise of adventure. I'm not going to lie, the peas soup weather made me super nervous, but the fog ended up making the photos feel magical, and I love how this gorgeous family became the natural focus point as the background fades into mist. Here are some of my favorites from our full session. Thank you for allowing me to be your photographer this time! And thank goodness we ended when we did, on the way home the sky turned black and the rain came down in sheets!
